How to Mix Pretty Patterns by Three Bird Nest
Posted on 15 March 2015
When it comes to patterns these days it seems like so many pieces are floral, aztec or some kind of graphic. Pairing these different graphics together may seem like your look could quickly get busy, but it is one of our favorite things to do. Since we just added so may fun patterned pieces for spring, today we are bringing you a look made up of different ones all together.
When pairing multiple patterns the rule of thumb is to limit your color palette and instead mix different textures to create an interesting look.
We started with these fun floral shorts and paired then with a neutral black and white compass tank to keep the look from clashing.
Summer and Spring are perfect times to pair patterns, since full length items like pants or sweaters make wearing multiple graphic pieces more tricky.
We used this charcoal bralette as a fun way to add mixed texture to the look without making things to busy.
